The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally resilient. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which may show helpful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs change in time. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its innate sturdiness, the Zenhaven must work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also examined in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of experts in the bed mattress market and in materials science; checked out dozens of mattress showrooms, stores, and factories; and pored over the great print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and accommodating nearly every convenience choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Cool Blue Memory Foam Sprung Mattress Reviews
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
