The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might show useful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress factories, display rooms, and stores; and pored over the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and accommodating nearly every convenience preference– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Hypervent Marine Mattress Pad
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do understand that the company utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
