The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is inherently resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which might prove useful if you’re not exactly sure what you prefer or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, however it uses a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent sturdiness, the Zenhaven should work well for individuals who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of experts in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of bed mattress showrooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the small print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for numerous weeks.
Understanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every convenience preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Mark Levin Mattress Endorsement
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. But we do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “ideal spine assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
