The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter over time. This is not a conventionally cushy mattress, but it uses a supple cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of bed mattress display rooms, shops, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– lots of with an option of firmness levels and accommodating nearly every convenience preference– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Mattresses That Do Not Smell
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and durable foams and coils.
