The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show useful if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your requirements change over time. This is not a conventionally cushy bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of experts in the mattress industry and in products science; checked out dozens of bed mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and pored over the great print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and accommodating nearly every comfort choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Model # 500203446 1070
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils.
