The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove useful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs alter over time. This is not a traditionally soft mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, good edge assistance, and a subtle springiness.
These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed scores of experts in the bed mattress market and in products science; visited lots of bed mattress factories, shops, and showrooms; and pored over the great print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– numerous with a choice of firmness levels and dealing with almost every convenience choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). My Saatva Mattress Under $20
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. But we do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and long lasting foams and coils.
