The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may show handy if you’re not sure what you prefer or if your needs change over time. This is not a conventionally soft mattress, but it uses a flexible cushion, excellent edge support, and a subtle springiness.
These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of professionals in the bed mattress industry and in products science; gone to dozens of bed mattress display rooms, factories, and shops; and pored over the fine print on specs, warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with an option of firmness levels and catering to nearly every convenience choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Serta Pearce Firm Mattress California King
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brand names. We do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive client service and resilient foams and coils.
