The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally durable. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove handy if you’re not sure what you choose or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Provided its inherent toughness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These bed mattress were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve spoken with ratings of professionals in the mattress market and in products science; checked out lots of bed mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and pored over the fine print on specifications, service warranties, and return policies.
Making sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and accommodating practically every comfort choice– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Sultan Hjartdal
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid created for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. But we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spine support”; we’re less impressed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and resilient foams and coils.
